One of the so-called monuments of the European professional calendar, the Tour of Flanders attracts bigger crowds of cycling enthusiasts every spring.
The race is known for its difficult 260 km course, which features short, sharp hills, cobblestone streets and unpredictable weather.
In 2011, the Belgian Nick Nuyens finished first ahead of the Frenchmen Sylvain Chavanel and the Swiss Fabian Cancellara.
